I’m all about staying active and I will try most anything to get moving. I haven’t always been this way, but after I dislocated my knee in early 2012, I was told I had to keep my muscles strong or it would happen again. That experience was so incredibly painful, I vowed to never let myself get to that point again. I lost over 50 lbs. in the year after that and haven’t looked back…much.

A year after my wedding, I went in for my yearly check-up and learned that I had gained over 15 lbs. in exactly a year. I was disappointed, frustrated, and unhappy. I knew I was headed down that dark path where I could possibly end up injured again. I was trying to get pregnant, so honestly taken some time off to try and will my body to conceive. When that didn’t work and I learned how much weight I had gained, I knew I needed to change my game plan. I needed to be sure my knee didn’t dislocate again and the only way I knew how to do this was running.
